I don’t fit into society…

No one gets to play victim. We are all victims of life’s misery. Branded in ways that make you feel mundane and addicted to the pain of gain.

At crossroads yet again, a dog drawn to bone, a moth to flame. My mind is a spiral of intersecting worlds, an alternate world, a no-man’s land, for I am female.

I have begun to question the hierarchy — the order of things,

The force that shuts your mind down and tells you to just let it be.

When did we lose our humanity? Why do we lack when our land is rich? Why do men who do not understand the blood that flows through my veins dictate how I live in my society? Who named right and wrong, and most importantly, who made you judge over all?

Green white Green, why does white come in between? preventing it from ever uniting, open your eyes and see. I have long accepted that I’m me.

It is okay to not belong, to have no one, to be odd, because the truth is, I’m tired of society’s construct of perfection. It suits no one.

So let me be free; let me be like wild flowers in spring; let me hum to my beat; and if tomorrow ever comes, let me fade, knowing I owe no one.
